Fallback values

{customer.first_name|friend} renders 'friend' if first name is missing. Stops cold mass-mails from saying 'Hi ,' to half the list.

Smart formatting

{order.total|usd} formats as $X.XX. {date.now|relative} renders 'in 3 days'. Format hints live with the tag, not in the surrounding template.
